The brown wrapping used to make Paper Nest was saved from a Christmas parcel. It had filled the space between the gift and the walls of the delivery box. I store most of our used household paper and cardboard and this paper is particularly strong with interesting folds. It was soaked in a solution of glue and water and stretched, scrunched, torn, and molded in my hands. It was dried into its final shape and Dutch gold leaf laid inside.
