This November, BMN held the first of our two Professional Development events, Artist-led projects: where artists are taking action to develop their creative practice. This event took place at the blackShed Gallery near Robertsbridge, where Nikki Davidson-Bowman is presenting her solo exhibition, Pathways.

Nikki led an informal discussion for artists about her journey in planning her own exhibition — what brought her to this point, as well as the benefits and challenges along the way. We also heard from blackShed curator, Lorna Ough, who spoke about her role at blackShed Gallery and the kinds of artists and projects featured there.

BMN would like to thank Nikki Davidson-Bowman, for giving such an interesting talk. It was a pleasure to be in such an intimate setting surrounded by the wonderful works in her show. We would also like to thank Lorna Ough and the whole team at the blackShed Gallery for hosting the event.

The exhibition continues until 22nd November (closed Sunday/Monday). Images below feature Nikki Davidson-Bowman during the talk and some of the work featured in the Pathways show at at blackShed Gallery.
