For our October event we welcomed Emily McLennan, a former Blue Monkeynet member, who gave a talk and ran a hands-on workshop.

Emily, now based in Scotland, is a recipient of Research and Development funding from Arts Council. She shared with us her quest to find environmentally sustainable dyes and paints, her ambition to make artists the driving force in reconnecting communities, and the many fascinating collaborations she is undertaking as part of her wider project, Radiating Connections.

To finish off the evening, we were asked to think about the paths and roads we take in life and how we can stay connected to the landscape around us. We all embarked on a creative task, trying to find the best way to represent these ideas.

Emily left us with a lot to think about, particularly what materials we use in our everyday creative work and what it means to connect.

A big thank you to Emily Mclennan for sharing her practice with us, to Agi Read for organising this event and to Towner gallery for hosting us this month.

Thanks to all that came along and took part.
